P-51D Mustang “Dakota Kid II”

P-51D Mustang “Dakota Kid II”
Dakota Territory Air Museum

Named after the original P-51 “Dakota Kid” which was flown by Noble Peterson from Hettinger, ND in World War II.

Dr Henry Reichert bought a P-51 and had it done up to honor Noble. It was later sold to a company in Texas. Several years ago, it was again sold and donated to the Dakota Territory Air Museum, and they currently own and operate this iconic P-51 Mustang.

Today, they keep it flying to tell the story of Noble Peterson, and all those who flew the P-51s during WWII.

During the Wings Over Batavia Air Show, Jim Peitz will fly this aircraft.
