NextGen Eagles Aerobatic Team

The NextGen Eagles Aerobatic Team consists of Leland Kracher, Team Lead, and Tom Braymer, Wingman. They fly the Christen Eagle II, which was designed by Frank Christensen to compete with the Pitts Special.

About Leland Kracher, Team Lead

At the age of 13, Leland took his first flying lesson, soloed at age 16 and hasn’t looked back! When he wasn’t taking flying lessons, he was flying virtual airshows on Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X in a Christen Eagle formation act, which emulated the Iron Eagle Aerobatic Team. These virtual airshows led to him having the opportunity to travel with the Iron Eagles, learning how the air shows industry works.

When he’s not flying airshows, Leland is an established sound designer for recording studios and artists in the country.

About Tom Braymer, Wingman

Tom grew up in an aviation family, where he soloed at 16 and buying a Pitts S-1S at age 21. He went on to compete in his first IAC competition three months later. He is now a season competitor. While Tom didn’t travel with the Iron Eagles like Leland, he was selected a ferry pilot to take Iron Eagle 2 to it’s new home when it was retired from airshows.

Outside of airshow, Tom is an airline captain. He has over 5,000 hours in 50 different types of aircraft.
